T-mobile are the latest high profile brand to use Twitter’s promoted trends. On Thursday (02/02/2012) T-Mobile launched #britainloves, a promoted trend to push their ‘What Britain Loves’ YouTube video.
Was the campaign successful?
The day started with 300 views of the video on YouTube. By lunchtime the view count had grown to 74K, 24 hours later there was 179K views. T-Mobile used a promoted trend to drive views of the video. They also used a banner ad on the YouTube homepage and sponsored search ads within YouTube. This promotion also generated earned promotion through retweets and on YouTube as the video started trending.
